Susan's Story

Here is the sweetened condensed version of my working life since graduation: Worked in banking for 5 years, which paid my uni tuition etc . Travelled to Europe, found a job teaching nursery school in the Alps, across the border from Salzburg, Austria. Got married while there and returned to UK with English husband. . Trained as registered nurse, then registered midwife, in the UK. Now a neonatal intensive care nurse and lactation consultant. Also, massage therapist, aromatherapist and reflexologist. Worked privately in that field but sometimes in the hospital or hospice work. Returned to US for 2 years, working as ARNP ( nurse-midwife) in Florida. lishment so returned to the UK. Less money but far better ethics! Now a dual national. Worked, on and off, more many years in India. I had a gem selling business with my husband for many years in Goa and Kashmir.......as well as nursing and midwifery. I miss it terribly! Now in neo-natal intensive care, near Canterbury, Kent until I retire. Lactation consultant and infant feeding specialist on the unit, and privately. The future? Good question! I will certainly finish the training I started many years ago (but was not able to complete) as a medical herbalist and naturopath in Colorado but that won't be until I retire now. My goodness that is only 2 years away!! Unless the travel bug strikes again........then of course the lure of India still beckons.......
